MICHELLE // STUDIO SESSSION // EL PASO

I haven't blogged in years. YEARS! It makes me sad to say that and yet, a lot of that makes sense. Instagram took over as the way to share our work and yet, I never felt quite at home sharing work on Instagram the way I used to feel comfortable on my old blog when it existed years ago. Blog posts were stories in both words and imagery. Photographs were photographs and not little squares to flick though. Despite all the ways they've tried to improve it, it's just never felt like the right way. And I don't believe I"m the only one to feel that way. In fact, I know I'm not. I know that in many ways, we are all discovering that the allure of social media has faded. It's taken the joy out of so many things.

So, I'm back to blogging because that feels right. I'm starting with this studio session of one of my most favorite humans, Michelle.

I actually just got off the phone with her, and she goes, "You know where I want to be right now? Seattle. I want to be on a boat whale watching and eating clam chowder. That's where I want to be. Can you believe it's been almost a year since we were there?"

Sighhhh. Take us back.

I'm happy that we were able to have a solo photoshoot together at last, after discussing it for so many years. We cranked up the music, enjoyed coffee on a cloudy day, laughed, played, and created more memories. Isn't that the point?
